Hooooter Hider

My pregnancy hormones have continued to keep me crazy crafty,…

I finished my “hooter hider”, at least that’s what I’ve always known it as.

**don’t worry mom,…it’s a tame, safe, and peaceful bit of work**

An amazing creation, I tell you. Simply slip it over your head, adjust the straps, and nurse your baby in complete privacy and peace….hence the name, “hooter hider”.

My cousin gave me one for my shower and I loved it so much I decided I wanted to try to make another one myself. I’m sure two will come in handy… one for travel, one for home maybe?

I have to tell you though,…SO SIMPLE! It’s basically a rectangle cloth with two straps sewn on. Anyone can do it!! I originally printed out directions from “made by the mama monster“, but then instead, since I’m more visual, just looked at my other hooter hider and followed its basic pattern. But, the mama monster’s tutorial is great!!

I’m really happy with how it turned out… I am loving the fact that I’ve caught on to sewing. It’s so rewarding and therapeutic. dsc_0062

Next up,….(well not sure about next, but once I get the pictures taken)…. black, white, & pink curtains and pillows in my little baby’s room!

great job! i have one, and i think that two will come in handy… not only so you can keep one stashed in the diaper bag and one at home, but also so you have one handy when the other one gets, uh… well… milky. ;)

Love it! I received 2 nursing covers (or hooter hiders) for a shower when Ezra was born. I loved having 2. Just make sure your fabrics aren’t too dark or heavy; babies sometimes don’t like that. :)

Hi Arlane! I actually ended up not even using a pattern! instead, I borrowed a friends hooter hider and copied the size of hers and made a basic pattern out of that. The hooter hider is so basic you hardly need one,….just a large rectangle, boning for the top (so that you can look into the baby), and two ties at the top. pretty basic! maybe you can ask to borrow and friends and make a pattern that way! hope it works out for you!
