J and I have a new hobby…

I’ve always loved yard sales, but estate sales are about 10 steps up from a yard sale. It’s an entire house that I get to walk through and pick from! Furniture, dishes, books, linens, tools, jewelry,… you name it, they usually have it.
Here are a few things J and I found at our last Estate Sale.

Yards and yards of fabric,… most of it vintage.

I love this one,… the bird design. As my girlfriend described it, it’s totally Anthropologie,… but genuinely vintage. I think I’m going to make a pillow out of it!
I bought a ridiculously large pile of fabric, all different designs, for $5. You can’t get much better than that! Beat that, JoAnn’s!

Some books for Ruby…remember Holly Hobbie?!?!

And I know I say I’m in love with a lot of stuff,..but I’m in LOVE with the illustrations in this book!

They are simply adorable! I’ve already started reading them to Ruby! So stinking cute!

Can you argue with me?! Love them!

And one of our most quality finds,…a chair for our livingroom area.

I LOVE the arms,…I’m a big fan of swirly things.

And the carved flower detailing in just my style.
I have to admit though, it is a bit sad. J and I always talk about how depressing it is that people are walking through someone’s home and greedily picking through all of their personal possessions. I’m not sure I’d like it if I knew people were walking through my home grabbing things, possessively, like mad men.
But, I can’t lie. I still love them. You can find the coolest stuff!
I found a great link where you can locate the nearest Estate Sales in your vicinity. Check it out!

OH MAN! You really do find some awesome stuff! Look at all those treasures! I am SO BUMMED because when I was at your house on Friday I saw that chair, noted how cute it was, and wanted to take a picture of your Ruby in it. Then I just plum forgot! You should totally take a picture of her in it (yes, green pillow and all!) I love that chair.

I love those books! So fun and vintage. Man, we should have gone to an estate sale while we were there!
