Lovin’ the Lovey’s

Do you ever feel like you spend so much time doing so many things, but never accomplish any one thing? I’ve felt that way, so much lately. I spend my day running around doing a little bit of everything, but not one solid task. That may be my plight for the rest of my life as a mother, but I’m realizing that I need to at least accomplish one significant task each day,… at least for my own sanity.

I know as each day passes, I do accomplish something significant, taking care of Little Miss Ruby. That is precious, but I have to admit that it helps my own well being to feel like I’m completing other tasks at hand. Does that make sense?

Maybe I’ll come to terms eventually, knowing that I’m never going to get the things I want to get done, all in one shot. There’s ALWAYS going to be a to-do list running off the pages and I’m never going to be able to check all of my boxes off, but for now,…I’m just going to make “loveys”. HA!

These “lovey’s” are just too fun to make! I can’t get enough of them.

I love doing crafty, artsy, creative things, but those things just take time, you know? I love that I’ve found these “lovey’s”. Something that I can do AND complete in time to feel like I’ve accomplished something in my day. They seriously take about an hour to make, start to finish.

I made this specific one for a friends baby shower.

Including a matching burp cloth. Too cute. I have to give Ashley props for the burp cloth. She made me a bunch for my baby shower and I got the idea from her!

So, my friends, if all else fails and your feeling defeated by that to-do list in hand, make a “lovey”! It’s sure to brighten your day!

I don’t know where you find the time to do all you do…
i’m impressed, although you feel like you don’t do enough, baking cookies for us and bringing them over is a task you’ve finished!! check…
And I totally know how you feel…with a baby things change, for the better for sure, but still different! And those lovey’s…I made one few weeks ago, and will make another soon…I’ll stop by for some fabric soon ;-)
and thanks for inspiring me to DO stuff…love hanging with you, that’s also something on your list you can CHECK…haha
So keep on going, things will get done somehow…

I’ve been wanting to make some burp cloths. Maybe this will inspire me to actually do it. So cute!

Beautiful burp cloths. And your pictures are great.

Wow…. somehow my bloglines feed got really far behind on your blog, so I’ll just comment on the last 3 or 4 posts all at once.

    1. Ruby’s t-shirts are adorable, and so witty. And I love that they were all custom-made for her!

    2. You’re right, that bird fabric is very Anthropologie. And great deal on the rest of them! I guess you could always take the approach that the original owners from the estate sales would be happy to know their stuff will be well-loved.

    3. I’ve never done any significant moving myself, but I’ve helped enough people to move to know that it’s a pain. Hopefully things will get fully settled into your new place soon.

    4. It is always nice to have those quick projects–I find myself craving them after a more involved/time-consuming sewing project. And the matching burp cloth is cute– that’ll be a great shower gift. And I can definitely relate to feeling that you have more that you want to get done than can actually fit in a day. I could get so much more done if I didn’t have to work so much, lol! And I can imagine that it’s even more so with raising a child. But in the long run it’ll be worth it.

    5. That being said, I do hope you can get on here occasionally– I’ve missed seeing your invitation work and your fantastic food posts! (Also curious as to whether you’ll say anything about Julie & Julia–it looks like an interesting movie, and since you’re a food blogger, would be fun to see your take on it!)
