This past monday, one of my dreams came true.
My little muffin painted.
We were hanging out at home and I thought, we need to do something different. I can’t count how many time’s we’ve been to the park in the past week and I LOVE the park, but you can only do so much before you need a change of scenery.
“Paint!”, I thought. But no paint was to be found at home, at least the child safe kind, so we went on a field trip to the store and made our big purchase… then came home, strapped the little gem’s apron on (thanks ginette!), filled up our paint cups (that grandma gave her!), taped some paper onto the table, and got to work.
She *loved* it. Like, loooooved it.
Let me tell you, my little precious babe sat at that table for at least 30 minutes straight and painted. Totally focused, nothing could have distracted her.
So good with it, she was mesmerized.
She wondered, “What in the world is this “goop” on my hands?”, but it didn’t stop her.
She kept going,…filling the paper up by the end of our “painting session”.
I’ve dreamed of doing crafts with my Ruby. When she was 6 months old, I was forcing sidewalk chalk in her hand, then crayons, now paint. Ahhh,…the excitement!! Just wait til we hit the glitter box!! I dream of doing crafts with my baby. Is that odd?!
No matter how crazy it sounds,…this made my day. How precious it was to watch her amazement and see her mind think and experience the joy of art and creativity. *love*.

So where’d you end up putting the painting? Is it on the refrigerator or framed? I’m not as crafty or nearly as artistic as you but I dream about that stuff too! A couple weeks ago after church when I picked her up from the nursery they let her color an orange sheet that says, “Jesus Loves Me.” I have her scribble scrabble up on my refrigerator!
