E and R, 12 month and 3 years!

This little dude turned a year last month. How has this past year flown by so quickly? How is little E a YEAR OLD? He’s walking and climbing over EVERYTHING (and so proud of himself!), talking: “da-da” (says this all the time!), “ma-ma” (only in extreme, I-really-need-momma-now cases), “na-na” (we can’t figure out if this is “night, night” or “i wanna nurse!”), and “uh-oh!”…as well as a bunch of other random sounds.  He’s grown TWO teeth so far, one on the top and one on the bottom. It could not be ANY cuter!! E loves the dirt, playing in the mud, pushing cars and trucks around, as well as chewing on his sisters princess shoes and fairy wands (!), and is just starting to draw with sidewalk chalk and crayons. His little personality is coming out and he definitely has an opinion on things. When he doesn’t get his way, he shows us how he feels about things,…a lot of times with an arched back or a loud shrieking yell! HA! He is so precious though and such a cute little guy,…we love seeing who he is becoming and his full range of personality!!

This little fairy girl just recently turned 3! Oh my, is it SO much fun watching her grow and learn new things everyday! She’s such a little lady and LOVES dressing up. One minute she’s the Little Mermaid and the next she’s Princess Leia. She has SUCH an imagination these days and is constantly serving me “tea and cupcakes” or putting on a “dance show”. She just recently started a dance/gymnastics class and is LOV-ING it! The first day of class I was a little nervous as to how she’d do, but she soaked it up and by the end of the class was asking for more! She loves playing outside, doing crafts, and running around barefoot. This fall she starts preschool. How has my baby girl grown so much?! We love her kind and gentle spirit and her tenderness toward J and me, as well as her little bro, E. Seeing those two together TRULY melts my heart. It’s unbelievable.

What an adjustment it’s been with 2 children, but beyond that, what an AMAZING gift it had been. They are both so precious,…what a treasure.

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” -Psalm 127:3 NLT

Gobble, Gobble…

November 16, 2011

Ruby and I did a turkey craft this past Monday. We had to get a thanksgiving craft in before the holiday passes. I can’t believe we’re already approaching December…does anyone else feel these days are flying by?! I feel like it was just the summer.20111116-150207.jpg
It was pretty sweet though,…while doing our craft I explained to Ruby why we celebrate thanksgiving and the reason for giving thanks. Of course we were making a turkey craft, so she got stuck on the turkey aspect of thanksgiving. After googling a picture of a real turkey to show her what they look like and all that explanation, I think the two things my little sweetie 2 1/2 year old got out of it is that turkey’s say, “gobble, gobble” and they have “beaks”, not “noses”.

I love her,…simply love her :) .

Tink and Peter

November 3, 2011

Our two little muffins had a very happy Halloween…

Can you STAND the cuteness?! I couldn’t…I know they’re my kids, but oh my goodness, they were ridiculously adorable! I seriously couldn’t handle it!

Ruby was so sweet this year,… she is the queen of dress-ups so a holiday that centered around dressing up was a dream come true for her! We went back and forth,…first she wanted to be Tinkerbell, then she’d switch to Aurora, then Ariel,…even after seeing Elliot’s Peter Pan costume, she then said she wanted to be Peter Pan! It was pretty sweet,…we decided on Tinkerbell (because really…is she not the sweetest little Tinkerbell you have ever seen?!). It truly was the perfect character for her. And I do believe little Elliot was a sweet little fit for Peter Pan!

After we decided on Tinkerbell and Peter Pan, I came across Make it and Love it’s website. Umm,…has anyone else heard of this girls website?! I must have been in the dark, but it is awesome! A ton of easy and free tutorials on practically anything you’d ever want to sew! And Ashley had just happened to have made Tinkerbell and Peter Pan costume’s for her kids a couple of years ago. Convenient, no?!

The tutorials were definitely easy to follow and understand,…a perfect starter for me, since I’m still new to sewing.

What a sweet little Halloween it was for us though,…more pictures of Ruby and Elliot to follow…

Pirate Patch

October 28, 2011

Arrrrrrrrrrrrr me matey!

We made a fashionable pirate patch for thee lady!

It was put together with felt zebra print, a pink elastic band, and our trusty hot glue gun.

Such a fun little craft to add to her dress-up collection.

A true pirate princess,…that still loves that thumb!
