Gobble, Gobble…

November 16, 2011

Ruby and I did a turkey craft this past Monday. We had to get a thanksgiving craft in before the holiday passes. I can’t believe we’re already approaching December…does anyone else feel these days are flying by?! I feel like it was just the summer.20111116-150207.jpg
It was pretty sweet though,…while doing our craft I explained to Ruby why we celebrate thanksgiving and the reason for giving thanks. Of course we were making a turkey craft, so she got stuck on the turkey aspect of thanksgiving. After googling a picture of a real turkey to show her what they look like and all that explanation, I think the two things my little sweetie 2 1/2 year old got out of it is that turkey’s say, “gobble, gobble” and they have “beaks”, not “noses”.

I love her,…simply love her :) .

Halloween 2011

November 4, 2011

Our Halloween with two little muffins was a success!

Our family L to R: Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, Vidia (Ruby wanted me to be her,..one of Tinkerbell’s fairy friends), and Peter Pan.

Ruby’s facial expressions and movements are just too much for me!

She’s such a little cutie.

We started at a friend from church’s house that lives a few blocks away from us and met up with a group of our friends and their kids. It was so sweet to see all the kids dressed up and I loved watching Ruby this year as she was so excited to be part of things!

Ruby and Elliot with the crew at our friends house.

Ruby with two of her best buddies,…K (ballerina) and A (tooth fairy).

Ruby walked around, mainly, with one of her older, big kid friends. As Ruby and A were walking, I overheard this conversation,… A: “Ruby, when you walk up to someones house and they say you can take some candy, you only take ONE piece. But, if they give you candy, they always give you more candy. That’s when it’s good. You get more candy that way”. Lessons on trick or treating,…

Ruby with A. Pure excitement and glee…so sweet…

A great Halloween with family and friends!

Our two little muffins had a very happy Halloween…

Can you STAND the cuteness?! I couldn’t…I know they’re my kids, but oh my goodness, they were ridiculously adorable! I seriously couldn’t handle it!

Ruby was so sweet this year,… she is the queen of dress-ups so a holiday that centered around dressing up was a dream come true for her! We went back and forth,…first she wanted to be Tinkerbell, then she’d switch to Aurora, then Ariel,…even after seeing Elliot’s Peter Pan costume, she then said she wanted to be Peter Pan! It was pretty sweet,…we decided on Tinkerbell (because really…is she not the sweetest little Tinkerbell you have ever seen?!). It truly was the perfect character for her. And I do believe little Elliot was a sweet little fit for Peter Pan!

After we decided on Tinkerbell and Peter Pan, I came across Make it and Love it’s website. Umm,…has anyone else heard of this girls website?! I must have been in the dark, but it is awesome! A ton of easy and free tutorials on practically anything you’d ever want to sew! And Ashley had just happened to have made Tinkerbell and Peter Pan costume’s for her kids a couple of years ago. Convenient, no?!

The tutorials were definitely easy to follow and understand,…a perfect starter for me, since I’m still new to sewing.

What a sweet little Halloween it was for us though,…more pictures of Ruby and Elliot to follow…

Arrrrrrrrrrrrr me matey!

We made a fashionable pirate patch for thee lady!

It was put together with felt zebra print, a pink elastic band, and our trusty hot glue gun.

Such a fun little craft to add to her dress-up collection.

A true pirate princess,…that still loves that thumb!
