Wow,…what an eventful past month! Our precious little babe turned 1 at the beginning of March and in that same week, we moved to our first home!

What a whirlwind it has been with family in town visiting, packing-moving-and unpacking!, our precious Ruby turning 1!, and on top of that, still trying to maintain my invitation orders! It’s amazing though and I can’t be ANYTHING but THANKFUL for all that has happened in these past few months! However, I do have to admit how wonderful it DOES feel to know that things are starting to slow down.

Ruby’s first birthday was wonderful. I was a bit worried since we chose to have it at a local park and the day started out grey and cold with intermittent sprinklings of rain, BUT the sun came out right as the guest began to flow in. It was a beautiful day, perfect for our baby’s first birthday!

My favorite part of preparing for Ruby’s birthday was creating all the fun decorations!

The cupcake tower that I have used for SOO many different parties in the past year, the first being my baby shower! So glad I made this. Seriously,…switch out the ribbon and you have another adorable, matching tower for your desserts and treats. I need to post a “how-to” on this.

Our homemade ladybug pinata! My older sister came to visit for Ruby’s birthday (and save us from going crazy during our move),…in addition, she helped make this and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without her!!!

I was in love with it and so sad to see it torn to pieces,…So was Ruby! She cried when all of the kids began whacking it,…so sad!

I even found adorable ladybug bags to go with the pinata festivities! The bonus– they were on clearance from valentines day. *LOVE*

I also made ladybug antennae’s for every child to wear. I thought they were adorable and I’m happy to report the kids loved them too! It was so fun to see all the kids running around with them all! Too, too cute!

My precious friend, Jen, inspired me in so many of these fun decorations. I had the benefit, of getting SO many fun ideas from her, with her son turning one a few weeks before Ruby! Check out her her fun elephant themed birthday!
